I bet you won't be able to stand still here! Music Meeting kicks off at Doornroosje with plenty of African live music and sounds.
The Nigerian multi-instrumentalist Mádé Kuti, grandson of the legendary Fela Kuti, makes his Dutch debut here. His fresh take on Afrobeat is beautifully complemented by the raw punk energy, mixed with hip-hop, funk, and traditional rhythms from South Africa, brought by BCUC. “Without a doubt the best live act I’ve seen,” according to fan and renowned British DJ Gilles Peterson. The versatile Senegalese producer IBAAKU brings the urban vibe of Dakar, while local talent OUMY presents compelling grooves from the same country with sparkling indie folk.
