Music Meeting x Art Night – September 19

During the Nijmegen Art Night on September 19, Music Meeting, in collaboration with the Festivalhuis and Grondlab, will present two compositions by Saskia Venegas. The music, part electronic and part live, is part of a poetic installation designed by floral artist Mirjam Blaauw and writer Maartje Franken. This installation, located at Grondlab, is dedicated to the water cycle.

Two intimate works by Saskia Venegas, composer and director of Ensemble Oihua, evoke water, stillness, and inner reflection:

Mayuko Takeda, bass clarinetist with Oihua, performs the piece Inkeer for bass clarinet and electronics: a meditative work in which the sounds carry the listener, like a river, along subtle currents of thoughts, memories, and consciousness.

In addition, Venegas’ electronic soundscape Habitat of Dreams, in which, among other things, water droplets and instrumental sounds are interwoven into a fluid, dreamlike soundscape.

Art Night begins at 7:00 p.m. The start times for Mayuko Takeda’s live performances will be announced shortly on this website and on the Art Night website.
