The Music Meeting program is carefully curated throughout the year and is finalized between September and November of the year preceding the festival.
When making the annual festival selection, Music Meeting’s programmers strive to create a program of the highest quality, with a strong focus on diversity and the live experience the musicians offer. Because we are part of Keychange, our program features gender parity, and we strive for a balance between international acts and artists based in the Netherlands. Each year, a central portion of the festival program is reserved for a focus country, and we collaborate with guest curators.
Music Meeting celebrates connection by encouraging encounters and nurturing the future. We actively collaborate with regional, national, and international festivals, organizations, and venues, and we also participate in international networks such as Sounds of Europe. In addition, we offer various talent development programs and facilitate unique musical encounters through our residency program and by commissioning compositions.
Music Meeting receives more than 2,000 concert proposals each year, with only 30 slots to fill.
