Once again this year, there will be free activities for children during the Music Meeting Festival. During Pentecost, in downtown Nijmegen, on May 23, 24, and 25 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. From global music to (kids’) workshops. From dancing in the square to making music yourself at the Mini Meeting. For young and old alike—listen and join in on a musical adventure for the whole family!
Children's Activities
MiniMeeting is for young explorers ages 3 to 12. Face painting, building with bamboo, arts and crafts, and even making your own instrument: Mini Meeting is a blast for all kids—and secretly a lot of fun for parents, too!
Mini Meets
This year, for the first time, we’re presenting Mini Meets: three special concerts for children and their families—short enough to keep their attention, yet long enough to introduce them in a playful way to the cultures, rhythms, and stories behind the music.
Artists come to Nijmegen from all over the world to perform at Music Meeting. Have you ever met one of these artists? A mini-concert as a preview, a mini-workshop where kids can clap along, sing, or dance, and ask the artists questions!
Especially for families and children, Diyet & The Love Soldiers a musical performance in which they tell all kinds of magical stories from the far North. You’ll also experience a musical celebration withSvjata Vatra, full of fire and energy, together with your family! And together with Matthias De Craene & Black Koyo , you’ll discover the secret behind the enchanting Moroccan gnawa music.
Children's Workshops
There are also various workshops, such as a Bollywood & Beyond dance workshop, a cumbia dance workshop, and an Indian textile block printing workshop with Akash Kumar.
Album Art Lab
Step into the world of music and imagery during this creative workshop for all ages. Be inspired by LPs, music from different cultures, and iconic album covers, and discover how sound can be transformed into color, shape, and story. Listen, look, discuss, and then design your own album artwork—first on paper and then even on a real LP.
