Super jam with Alain

Alain Pérez was everywhere during the Music Meeting Festival. The Cuban bassist and singer is a real enthusiast and knows the secrets of salsa, latin jazz and flamenco. That is why this genius not only came to Nijmegen with his complete orchestra from Cuba, but he also lead this super jam. This so-called descarga (literally: 'discharge') has a long and important tradition in Cuban music. It is a way of communicating with each other through music and was introduced in the 1940s by contrabassist Israel 'Cachao' López. Pérez knows its history and now brought this wonderful Cuban tradition to Music Meeting.
