Saturday June 4
The Cuban percussion/singing phenomenon Osain del Monte are one of the artists who will bring their pure Cuban vibes to Park Brakkenstein on Saturday June 4 on stage Nikko. One of the highlights of the festival program.
Furthermore, on Saturday Badume's Band & Selamnesh Zéméné and El Comité can be seen on Nikko and Son Bent Braam, The Hidden Truth and Ivo Papasov & His Wedding Band can be admired on Ziro. The versatile Brenda Navarrete can be seen as 'guest artist' on Saturday, but also on Sunday and Monday on several stages.
Sunday June 5
Damir Imamović has the ambition to renew the sevdah - the Bosnian song of life - so cherished in Bosnia, without renouncing its ancient roots. The singer from Sarajevo brings the beautiful project 'Singer of Tales' to Nijmegen on Sunday June 5.
Ping Pong Piano, composed of four Cuban master pianists Ivan 'Melón' Lewis, Ramón Valle Marialy Pacheco and Rolando Luna, blesses the stage on Sunday June 5 on the Ziro stage. Moreover, a great collaboration is in the pipeline… That's promising!
As usual, in addition to Cuban artists, experienced musicians from all over the world take the stage at Music Meeting Festival. The Spanish singer and trombonist Rita Payés is a real sensation. Not only on stage, but also on Youtube. For the first time in the Netherlands this year and that of course at Music Meeting Festival on Sunday June 5 on Ziro. Let yourself be enchanted.
On Sunday, Chouk Bwa & The Ångströmers, Djely Tapa and Džambo Aguševi Orchestra will also perform on Nikko. As icing on the cake, there is also a super jam led by Alain Pérez. You don't want to miss this festival day!
Monday June 6
Antibalas, Spanish for 'bulletproof', is the Afrobeat band from Brooklyn that, in addition to classical Afrobeat, also borrows elements from jazz, funk, dub, improvised music and traditional drumming from Cuba and West Africa. Sitting still is not an option at this performance, just so you know. On Monday June 6 on Nikko!
The Alain Pérez y la orquesta: as the name suggests, this collective of new generation Cuban artists is led by bassist/singer and Latin Grammy winner Alain Pérez. Monday is also a special festival day, because on this day Music Meeting talent Raquel Kurpershoek will perform her project at Mystic, where Tamala will also be performing. Furthermore, you can also enjoy the beautiful collaborations Tolyqyn & K.O. Brass and Tony Roe vs. Vernon Chatlein on Ziro.
