Starpeople

When flugelhorn player Elias Luijten and pianist Fee Aaij first met, the chemistry was immediate. Both musicians shared a deep love for the music of John and Alice Coltrane and McCoy Tyner—it was as if they spoke the same otherworldly language. Not long after, the kindred spirits founded Starpeople, a project where they could channel their passionate musical visions. And it didn’t take long for their raw, unfiltered approach to attract like-minded artists seeking similar forms of expression. Starpeople’s first major moment came with the release of Happening #1—a 27-minute semi-live experience, featuring an ensemble of outstanding musicians, enhanced by sound and video engineers, and even a fashion designer. The set included original compositions by Luijten alongside a McCoy Tyner cover. At Music Meeting, celebrate togetherness and individuality through the melancholic space jazz of Starpeople—hailing from Gelderland!
