Saagara & Wacław Zimpel

A brilliant clarinetist and four Indian virtuosos come together to create a mesmerizing, hallucinatory musical world.
A natural presence—isn’t that the ultimate goal in music? Especially in improvised music, which is born in the moment yet feels as if it has always existed. Saagara embodies this effortless presence, crafting a hallucinatory musical world that is both captivating and surprising, yet—almost magically—strangely familiar. On one side, there’s the intense sonic landscapes shaped by Polish wind player Wacław Zimpel, who blends electronics, flutes, and clarinets into his sound. On the other, the virtuosic expression of centuries-old Indian talas and ragas. But what truly mesmerizes is the transcendent fusion of these elements—the way two musical worlds dissolve into each other while remaining distinctly themselves. Spiritual and adventurous, but above all, profoundly beautiful.
