Breno Virícimo
Ambassador of the multi-coloured music of Brazil.
No stranger
Bassist, guitarist and singer Breno Virícimo (1988) is no stranger to Music Meeting Festival audiences. The Brazilian musician played here in 2019 with his group Roda da Holanda. Roda da Holanda is an informal yet extremely swinging Brazilian concept where musicians play samba around a table while the audience dances around them.
All the colours and shades
Virícimo has a feeling for all the colours and shades of the rich music of Brazil: from 'música popular brasileira' to 'bossa nova' and the more experimental genres. He moved to Amsterdam to study contrabass. There, he heads the new platform Olaiá Music, with the help of Lilian ‘Zuco 103’ Vieira amongst others, with whom he regularly posts new videos on YouTube to showcase emerging artists on the Brazilian scene in the Netherlands.
