MM Concerts - Fuensanta Méndez - Ensamble Grande

Fuensanta Méndez composed new work at the invitation of Music Meeting for her nine-strong Ensamble Grande, highlighting not only the strength of her compositions but also her deft skill with arrangements.

The colourful lines drawn by sax and trumpet offer a rich contrast with the voices of the four singers and Méndez herself, which play off one another so effectively. Her bass playing, as relaxed as it is efficient, performs the role of guide in this wonderfully pure music whose destination nobody knows, but everybody clearly wants to be on the trip.
