Dutch drum sensation
Yoràn Vroom (1991) quickly became a Dutch drum sensation after graduating from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam back in 2013. He began playing drums at an early age, and by twelve he was crazy about the work of jazz drummer Billy Cobham.
Vroom then put himself firmly in the spotlight a year ago when he performed with keyboard player Cory Henry of Snarky Puppy. Their live clip of the number 'Heart at Midnight' has already been viewed more than 1.5 million times. He’s also performed with the likes of Frank McComb, Ed Motta and Waylon, and was one of the two drummers in the band on the television programme Matthijs Gaat Door.
Yoràn Vroom's Group of Friends
For some time now he’s also had his own line-up, Yoràn Vroom’s Group of Friends, whose first CD, entitled Across A Spectrum, is already out. His band includes his younger brother Yariv, percussionist with Kuenta I Tambu, and Itai Weismann from Israel. Besides playing saxophone, Weismann is a virtuoso on the EWI, an electronic wind instrument, which is a sort of synthesizer crossed with a wind instrument that can produce the most exciting sounds.
