SARĀB

Energetic is an understatement for this French band. Led by the impressive singer Climène Zarkan, the band switches effortlessly between different genres. The heavy guitar riffs, in conjunction with the trombone, create a wonderfully exciting atmosphere. The powerful band doesn’t hold back, which makes the electro-like melody of the keyboardist sound just that little bit more catchy.

In the midst of that fiery music bouncing in all directions, singer Zarkan is an example of calm passion, of subdued excitement. She holds everything together: the silent, melancholic passages, the parts in which the group goes completely wild while she reinforces the madness with the characteristic Arabic cries of joy, the moments in which SARĀB simultaneously recalls Led Zeppelin and Mano Negra, while also sounding as a hip contemporary band – there is always Zarkan's impressive voice.
