Daniel Erdmanns Therapie de couple
- Monday 20 May 18:10 - 19:00 (Lindenbergzaal)
Exciting meeting between jazz and contemporary classical music
The warm tone of his tenor sax immediately makes it clear that the German wind player Daniel Erdmann has soul. Soul and an inquisitive, playful spirit that can both laugh at the unexpected and see great importance in it: what we do not know takes us further.
This sextet improvises at the cutting edge, and Erdmann has brought on board absolute top musicians for this new band. The more than passionate playing of the two string players, violinist Théo Ceccaldi and cellist Vincent Courtois, is of an extraordinary class. At least as special is the way in which clarinetist Hélène Duret responds to Erdmann's robust sax; they never quite come together, yet they are always connected.
This is music that keeps changing colors, but has a core that connects virtuosity with vision in a very exciting way.
