Luc Ex with guest Ada Rave
The noise of the big city captured in sound and object
A horn of plenty, but filled with sound. Peter Zegveld designed an absolutely stunning visual installation that brings sound to the equally compelling composition of Luc Ex. A composition made up entirely of city sounds. That makes the piece as recognizable as it is confrontational. Placed on a square or in a park somewhere, that huge white horn immediately changes everything. It’s something you immediately want to see, to hear the sounds it emits. And then comes the friction, as beautiful as the object that generates the music, which is so intriguing and disruptive in its own right. During Music Meeting this remarkable music installation will acquire a special dimension because Luc Ex has invited various musicians to respond to his composition live. Top musicians from the new music and impro scene. Among them is the Argentine saxophone player Ada Rave; how does her gentle playing relate to all those intrusive city sounds? Or Ferry Heijne, singer of De Kift? Or singer and composer Annelie Koning? It promises to be very special no matter what, and that’s the aim. Look again, listen again, to what you thought you already knew.
