MM Concerts: L'Objet Sonore - Bibikov & Augenapfel
A cornucopia, but for sounds. Peter Zegveld designed a visually impressive installation that brings Luc Ex's equally penetrating composition to life. A composition entirely made up of city sounds. It makes the work as recognizable as it is alienating, as familiar as it is confrontational. That big white horn that is set up somewhere in a square or field and immediately changes everything. It's something you want to see right away, you want to hear the sounds that come out of it right away. And then comes the friction, as beautiful as the object that produces the music is, so intriguing and disruptive is that music in itself.
During Music Meeting 2023, several top musicians from the impro scene were invited by Luc Ex to react live to his composition. Watch the performance by Luc Ex and Ferry Heijne, singer of De Kift, here.
