MM Concerts: ESINAM ft. Linda Fredriksson
Besides her solo work with loop station and samples, the Ghanaian-Belgian multi-instrumentalist and singer ESINAM also formed a permanent band, consisting of musicians she explicitly chose for their musical identity. Guitarist Pablo Casella brought Brazilian sensuality and passion from his native Sâo Paulo. Bassist Axel Ghilain is an in-demand jazz musician and drummer Marin Méreau has a solid background in experimental pop music. Together, this foursome ventured into the Music Meeting Festival with saxophonist Linda Frederiksson, performing with their own band at the Ziro stage. With the raspy and raw tone of their baritone saxophone, Frederiksson offered exciting resistance to ESINAM's more light-hearted flute playing.
