Yuribert Capetillo Hardy

Visualizing freedom 

A creative multimedia and communications maestro, Yuri launched his one-man outfit YoSoyVideo Productions some 15 years ago. That was in Havana, but at the age of 19 he relocated to the Netherlands, where YoSoyVideo eventually grew to become an international phenomenon.

What distinguishes the work of Yuri is the variety of cultures, people and places that he captures through his camera lens. Motivated by a desire to visualize freedom, Capetillo travels the world, breathing life into remarkable stories with his photographs and videos. 

Yuri and Music Meeting 

In 2019, for example, Yuri made the four-part travel series 'Cuba na Castro' (‘Cuba after Castro’) for the VPRO. He has also worked with Music Meeting in the past: in 2020 he directed, recorded and edited the concert by Ramón Valle and Reinier Baas as part of the Music Meeting Concerts series.
