Echoes of the Anti-Atlas: a new generation of Amazigh sound
The six-piece band Tasuta N-Imal draws inspiration from the rich musical heritage of the Anti-Atlas mountain dwellers in their homeland, Morocco. Their name, taken from the Amazigh language, means “future generation”—a fitting reflection of their mission to preserve and share their cultural legacy through music. The band's roots trace back to 2008, when the Amzil brothers first joined forces. However, it wasn’t until 2014 that the full group came together, shaping their distinct musical vision. Tasuta N-Imal weaves the history, values, and traditions of their homeland into a captivating fusion of sounds. Their music blends traditional Amazigh melodies—such as Ahidus, Ahwash, and Izlan n Tyerza—with Western influences like rock & roll, blues pop, and desert rock. With their passionate dedication, Tasuta N-Imal continues to mesmerize audiences, carrying forward the vibrant spirit of the Anti-Atlas into the future.
