Eliane Correa
Pianist, composer, musicologist: this artist’s work takes many forms.
From the club to the conservatoire
She completed three different studies – classical piano, composition, and ethnomusicology – in as many countries. London knows the Cuban-Argentinian Eliane Correa as a bandleader, most notably for her six-piece band, Wara. Together they rock clubs through festive latin, packed with politically engaging lyrics.
Different formations
At the same time she’s the session pianist for 'The World of Hans Zimmer,' an official production with music by the famous film music composer. True to her reputation, Correa will appeared in different formations at Music Meeting. As one of our Artists in Focus she played with several groups. She performed with the string ensemble Fuse, she’ll join the uptempo salsa band Mercadonegro for a few tunes, and of course she has also played with her very own group Wara.
