Through the walls of a small Cuban living room echo the layered rhythmic patterns and complex singing of Adonis y Osain del Monte: a group of young percussionists, vocalists and dancers from Havana. On behalf of Music Meeting, our production partner AM:PM visited the versatile group for a look behind the scenes and spoke with Adonis 'Panter' Calderón, the founder of Osain del Monte.

Musical cocktail 

Calderón talks about the core of their music: rooted in Afro-Cuban culture with a base of traditional Rumba that is mixed with ingredients of contemporary music, without sacrificing authenticity. Combined with a good dose of family feeling, Adonis y Osain del Monte forms an adventurous, musical cocktail of tradition and innovation.
