Raï is alive again thanks to Sofiane Saidi! The Parisian singer with Algerian roots and his group Mazalda combine raï, funk, synths, disco, dance and rock. This results in an extremely danceable mix which has given Sofiane Saidi the honorary title “The Prince of Raï 2.0”.
On stage you see and hear how different cultures can reinforce each other. Arabic and Algerian sounds blend effortlessly into rock and disco grooves and saz parts go hand in hand with analog synthesizers. In addition to Sofiane Saidi’s convincing stage presence, Mazalda takes you on a musical time adventure that takes you back from age-old folk music, the 1980s and even lets you hear the future.
Expect psychedelic passages, swinging raï and touching vocals. Sofiane Saidi & Mazalda are able to put a smile on your face and bring you into higher realms.
