When flugelhorn player Elias Luijten and pianist Fee Aaij met, there was immediate chemistry. Both musicians shared a love for the music of John and Alice Coltrane and McCoy Tyner. It was as if they spoke the same alien language. Not long after their meeting, the soul mates founded The Starpeople in which they could translate their passionate visions. That initiative did not pay off. Luijten and Aaij's raw approach soon garnered the attention of artists seeking similar forms of expression. The Starpeople's first big moment was the release of Happening #1. A 27-minute semi-live exercise featuring a group of amazing musicians, dressed up with sound and video engineers and a fashion designer.
