Guitarist Joep Pelt chose an apt motto for a musician who travels a lot: home is where the music is. Exactly that feeling is evoked by the music of the group Soweto Soul, it is music from afar, coming from the various townships of South Africa, but thanks to the familiar sound of soul it is above all music like a warm bath, music where you relax, come home.
That music is glowing, filled with resilience, optimism. Struggling and loving at the same time. Music that does not exclude the listener, but embraces him or her, inviting him or her to join in, to dance on the Music Meeting festival grounds, to sing too, in one's own way, exuberant or subdued, it doesn't matter, everything can be there, everything and everyone can simply be there. Home is where the music is and music is everywhere.
