The interviews are led by MixedWorldMusic's experienced journalists Ton Maas, Charlie Crooijmans, Mark van Schaick and Marieke Meischke. Coordination and presentation are in the hands of Erk Willemsen. This is the program of the All Ears Area on Saturday, June 7:
15.20-16.00: Korean percussion workshop Mattieu Rauchvarger
The central theme of this Music Meeting is South Korea - and you'll notice this as soon as you walk into the All Ears Area shortly after the festival grounds open. There you can participate in a Korean percussion workshop led by Matthieu Rauchvarger. Matthieu is an actor, musician and director, and for many years was associated with the famous Théâtre du Soleil. That is also where his journey in Korean percussion began. At the invitation of master Kim Duk-soo, he traveled to South Korea, where he further immersed himself in Mynyo singing, Pansori, Talchum dance and more. Eight janggu drums are waiting for you!
17.00-17.20: Korean Interactive Poly-Rhythmic Singing Experience Mattieu Rauchvarger
After the Korean percussion workshop, Mattieu Rauchvarger will work on polyrhythmic vocals.
18.10-18.40: Sun-Mi Hong solo concert & interview
Following her intimate solo concert in the All Ears Area, our artist-in-residence will be interviewed by Mark van Schaick.
20.10-20.30: Mauro Durante intimate concert & interview
