Erkhembayar Enkhjargal, better known as Enji, is a Mongolian singer and songwriter who shows andn hears that her country is more than throat singing. Her skillful voice is a unique blend of jazz and folk with the traditions of ceremonial singing.
Enji learned the traditions of Mongolian folk songs and dances in her youth and later the art of Urtin Duu, a throat singing that is more than a thousand years old.
On her recently released album, "Sonor," she explores questions of identity through metaphorical language, careful and always hopeful.
