A voice for the voiceless. Rocco Ostermann and Wout Kemkens, front men of the Dutch group De Niemanders recorded stories in detention and asylum centers and composed striking music to accompany them. Together with third member Rick Wiegerinck, they make music that is apt, because it does full justice to the diversity of those stories, to the raw pain, the real-life sadness that is hidden in them. Hard-bolster music too, music with spirit. Cutting rock that emphasizes the vulnerability, the necessary theater, some extra boldness that adequately brings out the drama. And in both the music and the stories influences, colors, accents from all over the earth. Because the world is always bigger than we think. It is bigger than we think.
