Music Meeting Festival crosses styles, genres and cultures and has been offering a stage to the best artists worldwide for almost 40 years: musicians who have rarely or never been seen in the Netherlands, with new projects or in special formations. For three days during the Whitsun weekend, Park Brakkenstein in Nijmegen will be dedicated to musical encounters.
History
The first edition of Music Meeting took place in 1985. At the time, the festival bore the name "1st Multicultural Dance and Improvised Music Meeting," which quickly became popularly known as "Music Meeting. Until 2003 Music Meeting was organized in Concertgebouw de Vereeniging and Stadsschouwburg Nijmegen. Since 2004 Music Meeting takes place in historic Park Brakkenstein and the label 'Festival' has been added. Music Meeting now has a history of over 35 years, with a rich line-up of artists from all corners of the world.
