Martyna van Nieuwland will depart as artistic director of Music Meeting on October 1, 2024. With her broad knowledge of innovative global music to age-old musical traditions, she left her mark on the past festival editions, where a large role was reserved for interdisciplinary programming. Music Meeting also made strides in the areas of sustainability, social inclusion and cultural heritage, which Martyna worked with the team to promote. Both festival editions were highly rated by musicians, audiences, press and the professional world.
Nevertheless, the Music Meeting Foundation board and Martyna have found that their ambitions diverge. Martyna will remain remotely involved in the programming of the upcoming edition, June 7-9, 2025, which will still largely bear her signature.
